KUCHING: Kuching FA’s hope of bringing home the full points did not materialise when they drew 1-1 against Kelantan United in their M3 League match at Sultan Mohamad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu, Kelantan on Sunday.

Kelantan took the lead in the first half but Kuching found the equaliser five minutes before the breather through Hafis Saperi. As a result, Kuching FA sank slightly to fifth spot in the standings.

Kuching FA chief coach Ideris Untong commended his players who have shown good performance throughout the match.

“I am satisfied with their performance as they controlled the match well with four or five chances in the first half.

According to him, it was a balanced game against Kelantan who are a very strong side.

Kuching played without their key players Joseph Kallang Tie and Ramesh Lai, both of whom have incurred hamstring injury.

The team and officials returned to Kuching yesterday and will next play against Protap at the State Stadium this Sunday. Out of the three matches played so far, Kuching FA have won twice and drew once.
