KUCHING: The Kuching Food Festival this year is set to feature a total of 285 food stall vendors.
The selection process took place at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) office yesterday (June 20). A total of 690 applications were received for the festival.
According to Lim Kaa Kuan, the food festival assistant coordinator at MBKS, there will be three categories of food stalls: premium, single, and half-sized stalls.
Due to the high number of applications this year, the selection process will be done through balloting.
Out of 168 applications for premium stalls, only 71 will be chosen.
For single stalls, 50 out of 355 applications will be selected, and for half-sized stalls, 148 out of 167 applications will be chosen.
Visitors to the festival can look forward to a wide variety of food stalls, including confectionery, grilled food, burgers, desserts, and more.
Additionally, MBKS will provide three types of main stalls: double stalls, drink stalls, and fun fair stalls.
The annual festival is scheduled to take place from July 28 to August 20 at the MBKS compound.
