KUCHING: The Kuching Love Book Association is set to host their 11th Blood Donation Campaign, titled “The Blood Donation Campaign 11.0,” at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) from 9am to 2pm this coming Sunday (March 3).
In response to the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank’s need to address insufficient blood stock, the campaign aims to encourage eligible donors to contribute.
“Anyone who weighs 45kg and is over 18 years old is eligible to donate blood, while those who are 17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
“The entire blood donation process only takes five to thirty minutes, depending on the individual’s constitution.
“Interested donors should ensure they have at least five hours of sleep, have eaten breakfast, and refrained from alcoholic beverages for eight hours the night before,” stated the association in a press release.
The first 80 donors who successfully donate will receive a gratitude goodies bag containing an eco bag, mug, stress ball, 5kg white rice, Milo, oat, milk, and biscuits.
“We hope that people from all walks of life will actively attend and support this meaningful blood donation event and help those in urgent need of blood.”
