KUCHING: Kuching Marathon will be coming back this year after being cancelled in the past three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said this yesterday during a press conference on the Spartan Race Sarawak 2022.
“Usually, it is held on the second Saturday of August but this year, unfortunately we will not be able to do it in August but we will be having it in October instead.
“I hope more than 10,000 athletes will be participating this coming October for the marathon.
“From the records in the past, two third of the participants are made up of Sarawakians and the rest are from outside of Sarawak which I hope it will be the same this time around,” he added.
Additionally, he pointed out that Sarawak International Dragon Boat Regatta would also be making its return in October this year.
