KUCHING: The highly anticipated Kuching Marathon 2024 will not only welcome running enthusiasts but also family and friends to bond together.

Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the increasingly popular event is a community event which is beneficial for health.

”Every year, the number of participants is increasing, ordinary people with families join to make the event more lively.

”Activities like this can bring families closer, not all participants are involved simply to win the prizes offered, but to spend time with their families.”

He was speaking to the media on the Kuching Marathon 2024 at Baitulmakmur Building II on Thursday (May 16).

Abdul Karim said the marathon will see an estimated 17,000 people and is always awaited by running enthusiasts, both local and international.

“Looking at the first time the Kuching Marathon was held in 2014, it shows a consistent increase in terms of the number of participants involved.”
