KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 619 new COVID-19 cases during Epid (epidemiological) Week 35, which showed a slight decrease from Epid Week 34 with 760 cases.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) weekly statement, Kuching remained the state’s most affected district with 194 cases.

In Epid Week 35, Miri (110 cases); Sibu (83), Bintulu (74), Samarahan (24), Sarikei (22), Serian (15), Bau and Dalat (13 each) were among the districts that saw double-digit cases.

The remaining districts with zero positive cases in Epid Week 35 were Telang Usan, Pusa, Sebaih, and Bukit Mabong.

This takes the cumulative cases to 312,532 in Epid Week 35 from 313,151 in Epid Week 34.

Meanwhile, there were six deaths recorded in Week 35 – Kuching recorded two and Sibu recorded four – while the week prior recorded one death each from Samarahan and Sarikei.
