Kuching reclaims trophy from Brunei

SERIAN: The RC Boat Kuching team recently reclaimed the Team Challenge trophy from the Brunei team in the Serian RC PowerBoat Race 2019 at Taman Danu lake here.

Besides receiving the trophy presented by Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Datuk Seri Michael Manyin Jawong, the team also walked home with   RM7,500.

A representative from RC Boat Kuching Mohamad Daud Jelani attributed their victory to the efforts of its members who had been practising together.

“We gather and practise with our boats every weekend, usually at Masja,” he told New Sarawak Tribune after the team members received their prizes.

Mohamad Daud, Kuching RC Boat Association’s president, “We won the trophy for two consecutive years before Brunei took the title last year.”

The recent fifth RC PowerBoat Race 2019 was held in conjunction with the Serian International Remote Control Carnival.

Organised by the Serian District Council, the two-day event saw 78 participants from Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Kuwait and Dubai competing in eight categories of the boat race.

The challenges for remote control scrawlers and flying vehicles were participated by 95 RC scrawler and 73 RC drone, plane and helicopter enthusiasts.
