KUCHING: Maksak Kuching clinched the Cup title at the Maksak Sarawak Rugby10s tournament, defeating Maksak Sibu 12-10 in a thrilling final at the UNIMAS synthetic field in Kota Samarahan today (Oct 6).

Despite early pressure from Sibu, Kuching’s strong defense and sustained attacks ultimately proved decisive.

Wan Aminudin Wan Mahmud’s crucial try in the latter stages secured the victory for the Kuching team.

In the Plate category, Maksak Miri dominated Bomba with a 26-0 win.

PDRM also claimed their title in the Bowl category, defeating Maksak Samarahan by a narrow margin of 14-12.

The tournament, held under perfect weather conditions, attracted rugby enthusiasts from across Sarawak.

Maksak Sarawak chairman Zainal Abidin, Samarahan Resident Mohd Irwan Bahari Bujang, President of the Samarahan Division Rugby Association Prof. Dr. Al-Khalid, KRFC President Yusof Shah Dato Mokhsen, Sarawak Rugby Union advisor Dick Bentham, and SRU President Richard Song were present to witness the action.

The Maksak Sarawak Rugby 10s tournament, which featured teams from Sibu, Betong, Samarahan, and Miri, concluded after a two-day competition.
