KUCHING: The Kuching Tattoo Festival, which was organised for the first time in Kuching, will be held on September 30 until October 2, 2022.
Featuring more than 80 tattoo artists from all over the country, the festival is organised by Skrang Tattoo in collaboration with Inkzation Tattoo Studio located at the Dayak Bidayuh National Association Hall (DBNA) here.
According to the organiser and owner of Inkzation Tattoo Studio, Nicholas Jenta,33 the festival will take place from 9am to 9pm.
“This event will also be enlivened by the opening of sales stalls from local entrepreneurs such as food, handicrafts and so on.
“A total of 40 stalls are available for visitors and for those interested in getting a tattoo, they can make a face-to-face appointment,” he told reporters at a press conference held here yesterday.
Meanwhile according to Boi Skolang, 36 who is also the owner of Skrang Tattoo, the festival will also involve several tattoo artists from the Philippines.
He said, the holding of the festival aims to develop artistic talent in young artists in addition to promoting Sarawak tattoos to the outside world.
“It is hoped that this festival will receive a good response from the public as well as be an attraction for foreign tourists,” he said, adding that the public will be charged an entry fee of RM10 to the festival while children aged 12 and below will be admitted free.
