KUCHING: Sarawak today registered a total of 1,727 new Covid-19 cases, a slight decrease to Tuesday’s number of 1,903.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said from the total, 1,714 were categories 1 and 2 cases, while 13 were categories 3, 4 and 5.
Kuching has the highest number of cases with 584, followed by Miri with 281, Sibu (193) and Bintulu (115).
Two deaths on March 7 and 8 were confirmed as due to Covid-19.
The first casualty was a 72-year-old man from Kapit who had high blood pressure, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney failure.
The second death was a 69-year-old woman from Mukah who suffered from high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.
