KUCHING: Sarawak’s last red zone, Kuching district, has been declared yellow zone when the number of new cases reported was less than 40 in the last 14 days.
With that, Sarawak no longer has any red zone district.
Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas also announced that no new positive cases were reported throughout the state to maintain zero cases since yesterday.
“The state also recorded no new positive cases for two days in a row,” he said during the daily Covid-19 press conference yesterday.
Uggah, who is also deputy chief minister, added six more patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. All the cases are from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
“The number of recoveries is at 74.45 percent of the total 544 cases,” he said.
He said 20 new person under investigation (PUI) cases were recorded, and 11 PUI cases are still awaiting laboratory test results.
“There are currently 121 being treated at the hospitals, with one case treated at the intensive care unit (ICU) and no patients under intubation support,” he said.
On the inter-district travel application, Uggah said so far 7,196 applications were received from 28 police district headquarters yesterday — that made it a cumulative total of 16,167 applications to date.
“Of these applications, a total of 14,259 had been approved and 880 were rejected,” he said.
Uggah then said under the conditional movement control order (CMCO) a total of 2,173 locations had been monitored comprising supermarkets (248), restaurants (370), factories (43), banks (164), government offices (69), markets (360), and places of worship (57), recreational areas (35), construction sites (21) and others (806).
On the number of economic sectors allowed to operate during the CMCO period, he said to date a total of 26,603 notifications from various economic sectors were received, with 19,103 received through phone call and 7,500 others through e-mail.
