KUCHING: The Kuching Water Board (KWB) is taking steps to strengthen its digitisation services, which targets 80 per cent of e-solutions (HRPays & ESS), CACTUS and e-Performance data to web-based applications by mid-2022.
According to KWB general manager Rodziah Mohamad, the said method would provide more effective data collection and management as well as reducing the costs in management and operation of information technology in the long run.
“In accordance with this, our information and communications technology (ICT) has set up the IWater website, which is an internal initiative to offer users an easy way to register a water bill account, view their latest three months bill, or overdue bills.
“If users are late receiving bills, users can send the latest readings and monthly bills will be generated. Users can also continue to make payments through Paybills, and Sarawak Global.”
She said this during the opening ceremony of World Water Day 2022 here on Tuesday (March 22).
Rodziah stated that KWB had identified several digitisation initiatives to improve services to consumers as well as management aspects in the future.
Hence, she said KWB was renewing the re-certification of ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management (QMS), and ISO27001: 2013 Information System Management System (ISMS).
She added that it was also in the process of obtaining ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), and ISO certification 37001: 2016 Anti Bribery Management System (ABMS).
Separately, commenting on the World Water Day do, she hoped that through such programmes, initiatives to address issues of the environment and awareness in caring for water resources could be enhanced for present and future generations.
