KAPIT: Kumpulan Kapit Tari beat nine other teams to win the Ngajat Beraban (Group Ngajat Performance) title in a contest held in conjunction with a week-long Kapit Fest.
The team also took the best dressed award with their Bidayuh traditional costumes.
The event was organised by Kapit District Iban Community Leaders Association (KADICLA) held at the Old Airport at Jalan Bukit Goram recently.
With that win the team walked away with a championship trophy, a hamper and RM1,000.
In second place was Kumpulan Keking Madang performing an Orang Ulu dance and in third place was Kumpulan Chelsea Height New Generation team performing an Iban dance.
Officiating at the function was Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang who later gave away the prizes.
