KUCHING: It was heartbreaking news to those who personally knew Mohamad Sabari Shakeran, the Kuching Water Board (KWB) general manager who passed away on Monday night (July 6).

Sources confirmed that he passed away at the age of 56 in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) around 9.30pm.

It is believed that Sabari collapsed suddenly when he was praying at home.

His body was brought back from SGH to his home in Jalan Bako at about 2am.

His family, close friends and colleagues were deeply saddened and in shock when they received news about his passing.

Sabari worked with the Water Board holding the general manager post for 10 years. Prior to the post, he was attached to the Public Works Department (PWD).

With his passing, KWB lost a great and deeply loved figure in the water department.
