KUCHING: Sarawak Skills celebrated its 30th anniversary with a Charity Run today (Nov 3), drawing over 562 participants.
Organised in collaboration with the Sarawak Electronics and Supporting Industries Companies Association (SECA), the City Jogger’s Club (CJC), and the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), the event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise funds for a worthy cause.
Participants could choose between 5KM or 3KM run.
“By working together, we can improve our community and celebrate Sarawak Skills’ 30 years of excellence in TVET,” said Hallman Sabri, executive director of Sarawak Skills in a statement.
The RM45,000 raised will be used to purchase a new dialysis machine for SGH’s Nephrology Department, enhancing patient care.
Beyond the run, participants enjoyed an aerobic session, a lucky draw, and a symbolic cheque presentation to SGH.
The event was graced by the chairman of Sarawak Skills, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Haji Abdul Aziz Husain and wife Puan Sri Datin Amar Nur Ashima Aziz; chairman of Sarawak Skills 30th Anniversary Charity Run 2024, John Rizal Biki; chairman of SECA, Lee Boon Chun; deputy director of SGH, Dr Alex Kim Ren Jye; and Consultant Nephrologist of SGH, Dr Clare Tan Hui Hong.
