KUCHING: 1Malaysia Foundation trustee, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye puts Sarawak and Sabah at the forefront of promoting greater integration and unity in the country.
“I think what’s important here is while we are in the process of preparing to be a developed nation, one thing is important which is greater integration and unity in the country.
“Both Sabah and Sarawak are indeed very good examples of what the people can do to help bring about just that.
“What we want to see is moderation as we cannot accept extremism in any form, which isn’t good for the country,” he told a press conference at Pullman Hotel here on Thursday.
Lee added that when it came to promoting integrity, Sarawak was a very good example for the others to follow.
“Sarawak has so many ethnic groups and yet they can interact with one another; this can help to create greater harmony for this country.
“We in the 1Malaysia Foundation are happy with that and this was reflected when Kuching was given the title of “City of Unity’,” he said.
