KUALA LUMPUR: The ‘Lan Berambeh Sarawak 2019’ programme kicked off yesterday with four dialogue sessions, covering various topics to engage Sarawakian youths in state government policies.
‘Lan Berambeh’ founder Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said, “We hope to bring students’ participation into the State government policy decisions through their suggestions and views which could help us in drafting our policy especially on the State Budget.”
Fadillah was met by the local media yesterday morning at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MiTEC), where the ‘Lan Berambeh 2019’ was being held.
He said through the dialogues, students were encouraged to express their views and suggestions on how to improve government policies.
Citing the flight subsidy initiative, ‘Graduan Pulang Sarawak’ (iGPS) which was one of the resolutions that was brought into reality after the ‘Lan Berambeh 2018’, Fadillah said, through the initiative Sarawakian students studying in Malaya would each receive RM600 flight subsidy so that they could return home during festivals or holidays.
