LIMBANG: A policeman was arrested during an inspection at Limbang Police Station on Tuesday night.
The 31-year-old lance corporal who has been with the police force for 12 years was detained after he was tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Limbang District Police chief, Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai confirmed the arrest and said the suspect had a previous record of committing the same offence and initial investigation revealed that he was involved in drug abuse in 2011.
He said the suspect was remanded starting yesterday to assist investigation under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
Mohd Bukhori assured the public that he would not protect any police personnel who were found involved in drug abuse and similar operation would be carried out from time to time.
