Land owners to get titles from Awang Tengah

KUCHING: A total of 531 land titles will be issued to their respective owners at a ceremony to be held at the Bau Civic Centre near here today.

The land titles are issued under Section 18 of the state Land Code following the completion of the second stage of native customary land (NCL) surveying works under the government transformation programme (GTP).

Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said the affected lots are in Kampung Grogo and Kampung Sibuloh.

“Land titles will be issued to 182 lots in Kampung Grogo and Sibuloh and another 64 lots for Kampung Tradisi (traditional village lots) in Kampung Suba.

“Land tittles will also be issued to land developed by Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority’s (Salcra) for oil palm plantation involving 285 lots,” he said.

According to Jinep, the titles for Salcra-developed land comprised 68 lots in Bratak operation, Jagoi area (56 lots), Stenggang area (17 lots), Undan area (71 lots) and Sebako area (57 lots).

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also the Second Minister of Urban Development and Natural Resources, will officiate at the event and hand over the land titles to the recipients at 9.30am.
