LUNDU: Thirteen landowners affected by the construction of the Selampit bridge here have received their compensation cheques.

Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang presented the cheques during a ceremony at the Lundu District Office recently.

“In 2022, the initial project site was deemed unsuitable due to the need to demolish 13 homes, a community hall, and a village hall,” he said.

“Consequently, we adjusted the project site and bridge design to align with the allocated budget.”
Additionally, Billy contributed two fiberglass boats to replace existing riverboats.

He also presented Sarawak Native certificates to 14 individuals from his constituency.
