BETONG: A major landslide at Jalan Ulu Spak, off Jalan Ulu Layar here has cut off road links in the area since 6.15am yesterday.
State Disaster Management Committee secretariat spokesperson Major Ismail Mahedin said the 20 metre wide landslide has brought traffic to a standstill.
An alternative route towards Padeh has been identified for motorists to avoid the landslide-hit area.
“Road users are advised to be cautious, as there is still a risk of further landslides due to the rain,” Ismail said in a statement.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
However, a mother and her two children managed to escape unharmed after their vehicle was caught up in the landslide.
The incident occurred when the victim was sending her children to school at 6.15am.
