ASAJAYA: Two houses were destroyed in a landslide at Kampung Tambirat Tengah here, yesterday.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre spokesperson, they received a distress call on the incident at around 10.45pm.
Firemen from Asajaya station and the Civil Defence Force (APM) were immediately despatched to the scene.
Upon arriving, the teams confirmed that the landslide had affected two houses located near the river.
The kitchen of both the houses were destroyed and collapsed due to the landslide.
However, no injuries or casualties were reported.
Fearing for the safety of two other houses nearby, the teams ordered the residents to move to a safer location.
After ensuring that the situation does not harm anyone, the teams installed fences to prevent the public from going near the scene.
The case was handed over to the police for security control.
