KUCHING: Large crowds are expected for the Kuching Jazz Music Festival 2022 over the two nights of performances.

“I have yet to receive the latest count…we expect on the first day some 1,200 people and on the second day, 1,300.

“However, this does not include gate tickets, walk-ins and on the last day, there would be a little more,” said Hemisphere Corporation Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Mark Ferguson.

He was speaking at the festival press conference here on Thursday (Oct 28).

He assured that crowd control measures would be in place during the festival to ensure safety of all, including the performers and attendees.

Meanwhile, performers Phum Viphurit (Thailand), Noryn Aziz (Malaysia), Freyja Garbett (Australia), Leon Sapphire (Malaysia), Ky Den (Malaysia), Dawn Wong and The ArkRoyal (Singapore) and Hendri Rotinsulu with Jazmint Band (Indonesia) were also at the press conference.

The festival will take place at the open air space behind Grand Margherita Hotel, providing a splendid view of the Sarawak River and across, Kuching Waterfront, and the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex.
