KUCHING: The late former Sarawak state secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Bujang Mohd Nor has been described by Datuk Peter Minos as friendly and jovial.

The chairman of Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) remembered him as not only likeable, but also did his job very well for Sarawak.

“When I was a junior at Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) in 1973, he gave me such a wonderful advice.

“He told me to always work hard, and be dedicated as a government servant, from there I could go far.

“Most importantly he told me to treat members of the public with respect and dignity and in turn, I will be respected and remembered. Those great words still linger in my mind up to this day,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Bujang Nor, 88, passed away at the Normah Medical Centre here on Tuesday at 8.40 pm.

He left behind his wife Datuk Seri Dayang Lela Abang Zawawi, two sons and four daughters.
