BETONG: Changes to the town of Spaoh has hugely benefitted the communities here, with modern infrastructure complementing the picturesque traditional villages and new landmarks coming up.

According to Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bukit Saban deputy chief Cr Abang Suhordie Abang Zaini, two such modern infrastructure—Spaoh Sports Complex and Spaoh Riverfront—had proved invaluable to folk here, thanks to the Sarawak government.

“They certainly add an air of excitement within the communities, especially the villages in the Bukit Saban state constituency.

“Events and sports activities can now be organised in a comfortable and suitable venue,” he told New Sarawak Tribune.

“What is clear is that there will be no problem for the running of sports activities be they small or large scale after this.

“In fact, it is not impossible for Bukit Saban to become one of the areas that can produce sports talents in the future.”

Abang Suhordie noted that the 115m-long Spaoh Riverfront was becoming popular with the people, especially for leisure activities. “Since it was completed, many activities had been organised.”
