SIBU: A successful entrepreneur Dato Lau Bick Siong, who is also the advisor of Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, visited St John Ambulance Sibu Chapter recently to give back to the community.

He donated RM6,000 for food distribution to the needy groups.

Lau, who once suffered from kidney failure, and had undergone successful kidney transplant, said the kidney transplantation had improved his quality of life as he no longer needed dialysis treatment.

“I have experienced myself and know well the feeling of dialysis treatment,” he said.

He wished he could lend a helping hand to those in need to enhance their quality of life.

Lau also advised people who had been diagnosed with kidney disease to do more exercise and to be careful of what they eat.

“Besides, they also need to be more confident and be brave,” he added.
