KUCHING: Despite Sarawak recording a surge in the number of Covid-19 positive cases, Lawas district on Sunday (April 18) brought good news as it turned from a yellow zone to a green zone.
The district did not report any new local infection cases in the last 14 days.
“This brings the total number of green districts in the state to four,” said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a daily Covid-19 statement today (April 18).
The other green districts are Telang Usan, Lundu and Simunjan.
However, Belaga and Kanowit districts on the same day turned from orange to red after reporting 45 and 56 local infection cases respectively in the last 14 days.
Other districts in red zones are Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Matu, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Julau, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.
In orange zones are Betong, Asajaya, Bukit Mabong, Sebauh, Sri Aman and Marudi districts.
SDMC also mentioned that Pusa district had turned from green to yellow after reporting one new local infection case today (April 18).
Also in yellow zones are Song, Bau, Kabong, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Tatau, Tanjung Manis, Pakan, Tebedu and Limbang.
