KUCHING: A total of 33 blood bags were successfully collected through the Blood Donation Programme recently, organised by the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) in collaboration with the Blood Supply Unit of the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
LCDA said the donation is intended to replenish the blood supply at the Sarawak General Hospital’s Blood Supply Unit.
“With the theme #LCDAprihatin 2024 Towards a Caring Society, this blood donation programme is one of LCDA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
“It aims to foster a greater sense of responsibility within the community regarding the importance of donating blood, nurturing a compassionate spirit to help those in need, and supporting the blood supply needs of the SGH.
“LCDA and the SGH Blood Supply Unit hope that more government and private agencies will organise similar activities to support the blood supply, especially for emergencies that require blood,” LCDA said.
LCDA expressed its thanks to the generous blood donors who contributed to the 33 blood bags.
“And we hope that such efforts will continue with more community programs in the future to ensure adequate blood supplies,” LCDA added.
“This is because we believe that donor blood has the power to save lives,” LCDA stated.
