CELEBRATED on the second Sunday in May, Mother’s Day holds significance across many countries, serving as a time to honour and appreciate mothers.

During this occasion, individuals commonly express love and gratitude towards their mothers through various gestures, such as giving cards, gifts, flowers, or simply spending quality time together.

As we transition into the digital age, some utilise social media not only to convey well-wishes to their own mothers but also to extend greetings to all mothers among their families and friends.

Observing social media platforms, New Sarawak Tribune has come across heartfelt Mother’s Day messages shared by our state leaders.

While some chose to post pictures with their mothers, others opted for floral designs, and some offered tributes to their departed loved ones.

Federal Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing:

“Cross over the highest peaks, sail the great seas, and journey to the ends of the world; nothing compares to the warm embrace of one’s mother. Savour delicacies from the world over, and yet the most appetising still is mom’s cooking. With May here, a spring welcoming warmth, family affection, and wistful memories, here’s wishing mothers everywhere a lovely Mother’s Day, full of good health and happy times,” he said.
