KUCHING: The Bursa Marketplace Fair Sarawak 2024 is set to boost financial literacy and investment skills in Sarawak, with sessions designed for both new and seasoned investors led by industry experts.
Hosted by Bursa Malaysia, the event will run from Nov 9 to 10 at Vivacity Megamall’s Centre Atrium under the theme, “Invest Today, Powering the Future.”
The fair will feature tailored talks aimed at enhancing financial planning knowledge and strategies for wealth creation.
On the first day, Maybank Investment Bank’s Regional Sales Manager for Sabah and Sarawak, Jennifer Chee Chiew Yun, will provide an overview of investment platforms and products, followed by RHB Investment Bank’s Head of Retail Research, Joseph Chai, who will explore emerging growth cycles and profitable trends in today’s economy.
A panel discussion titled Malaysian Market: Year-End Insights & Strategies Entering 2025 will round out the morning, with experts from RHB Investment Bank, Hong Leong Investment Bank, and Malacca Securities sharing year-end strategies and a 2025 outlook.
Afternoon sessions include an in-depth discussion on structured warrants, led by Amanda Yin of Macquarie Warrants Malaysia and Eric Tan of RHB Investment Bank, who will guide attendees through strategic approaches to these investments.
In the evening, Ong Soon Chong of Eq8 Capital and Shyu Boon Eu from Bursa Malaysia will examine Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), highlighting their adaptability for modern investors.
Day two (Nov 10) will start at 11.45 am with a presentation on yield-based investments by Elizabeth Lee Kit Yoke of Bursa Malaysia.
Later, Isabelle Zhen from Kenanga Investment Bank will lead a session titled Invest Small – A Guide to Amplified Investing for the Young & Ambitious.
Other highlights include insights into navigating bull and bear markets, IPO opportunities, and investment prospects in China’s markets via Bursa’s ETF offerings.
Representatives from the Securities Commission Malaysia will also address the risks of investment scams, equipping attendees with practical tips to safeguard their investments.
