KUCHING: Newly appointed Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin and Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting took their oath of office before Yang Di-pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at the Astana Negeri in Petra Jaya here yesterday.
The ceremony was attended by Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, State Legislative Assembly
Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and State Secretary Datuk Jaul Samion.
Lee, who previously held the post of Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister, was elevated into a full minister during a minor cabinet reshuffle announced by the chief minister recently. He now helms the Transport Ministry, a new portfolio in the state Cabinet. Ting is Piasau assemblyman and secretary-general of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP).
