BINTULU: NAIM Street Mall’s management is pursuing legal action in response to the spread of a fake video implying a ghostly presence within the premises.
The viral video, claiming to show paranormal activity at Naim Street Mall, has been debunked as fabricated.
The management undertook an exhaustive investigation, including comprehensive interviews with those implicated, leading to the conclusion that the video was a deliberate hoax.
“NAIM, as a committed corporate entity, is dedicated to protecting and ensuring the welfare of our customers and tenants,” the statement read.
The mall’s administration remains firm in its belief that maintaining an authentic and positive representation of both the mall and Bintulu Paragon is essential, asserting a zero-tolerance policy towards any efforts to tarnish its reputation.
The statement also reminisced about Bintulu Paragon’s significance, marking its history as the former site of Bintulu airport. This location was celebrated internationally in 1981 for its unique proximity to the city centre, earning a spot in the Guinness World Book of Records.
Currently, the site hosts many cultural events like the Borneo International Kites Festival, drawing large crowds annually.
With this incident, NAIM sternly warns against the circulation of false videos or narratives that misrepresent the mall and Bintulu Paragon’s true essence.
“Furthermore, we are ready to take legal measures against anyone or any party responsible for propagating such misinformation,” it added.
