KUCHING: Assistant Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Michael Tiang intends to use his legal knowledge to help the ministry review ordinances in need of updates to meet the present needs of the community.

“I am particularly excited to be an assistant minister at the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government to assist the minister, Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is also my party president,” he said.

The Pelawan assemblyman hoped to be a quick learner in carrying out his duties for the benefit and interest of the people.

“I understand this is an appointment which comes with great responsibilities and duties to serve Sarawakians,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Jan 5) following the swearing-in of the new State Cabinet ministers and assistant ministers on Tuesday night (Jan 4).

He pledged his full commitment to fulfilling his role by working closely with his other colleagues in the State Cabinet.
