KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has called on the people of different faiths or religions in the state to celebrate Ramadan and the coming Hari Raya in the spirit of togetherness.
He said let the occasion be a celebration that showcases unity in diversity that promotes giving, sharing and caring for all regardless of race or religion.
“May this also be a time of fellowship, friendship and building up mutual understanding and respect for each other.
“Furthermore, let us all embrace and strengthen unity amongst our people for political stability which is crucial for the continuous progress and development of Sarawak,” he said.
He said this in a statement after attending the breaking-of-fast meal and ‘Ambang Aidil Fitri’ programme organised by the 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment at Semenggoh Camp here recently.
Yap then expressed his gratitude to 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment commanding officer

During the event, he also handed over the Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM10,000 to the Regiment Welfare Fund (TKR) of the 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment Semenggoh Camp to support their community and welfare activities.
At the same event, Yap also handed over his MRP grant of RM5,000 to Tabika Kemas of the 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment Semenggoh Camp for them to organise more educational activities.
