MIRI: Stop challenging the existence of vernacular schools in the country, urged Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak secretary Alan Ling yesterday.
“The existence of vernacular schools is an essential asset to the country and not a reason for some racist groups to break our unity,” he said. Ling added the existence of vernacular schools reflect the uniqueness of Malaysia and for that, Malaysians must uphold it regardless of their race.
He said this after handing over a federal grant of RM300,000 to SM Pei Min yesterday. The amount has been deposited into the school’s account on Oct 2 this year. Also present was Pujut assemblyman Dr Ting Tiong Choon.
