KUCHING: Bandar Kuching Member of Parliament Dr Kelvin Yii urged each and everyone to come forward to build a new narrative for Malaysia.
“To ensure programme and policies are accepted by the people as national agenda is not easy, but it is still not too late to make this happen,” he said during Nationhood Oratory and Narrative HistoryCompetition 2019 organised by State Information Department, at the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) Auditorium, here in Rampangi yesterday.
Gemilang HLV Group from Samarahan won the competition with the title ‘Story and Exemplary (Rosli Dhoby Pejuang Negara)’.
Gemilang HLV Group will represent Sarawak to the national-level event in August.
Representing Limbang with story entitled “Rentap, Independence fighter”, Patriotisme Women group emerged first runner–up while Phoenix Group from Samarahan with their story “Bintang Pantai Timur” the National Figures”’ took the consolation prize.
Among those present were the state Information Department director Abang Sardon Abang Hashim, Special Officer of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) in Sarawak, Dr Dusit Jaul; State National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) director Maffizan Saupie, and the Head of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MACC) Sarawak region, Adiman Ajem.
