KUCHING: The Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of SMK St Teresa, Kuching will hold a ‘Let’s Rebuild St Teresa’ dinner tonight (Nov 16) here at Pullman Hotel.

This event is held as part of the school’s fundraising efforts for the rebuilding of the school hall which was burnt down in October 2016 and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will be the guest of honour.

The fire destroyed the assembly hall, staff room, library, sewing room, living skills workshop, music room, counselling room, surau, toilets and printing room.

The rebuilding of the new block will include the administration and the classroom block with an estimated cost of RM3,551,795 while the multipurpose hall block will cost an estimated RM4,675,596.40.

The total estimated project is RM8,227,391.40 and the latest figure has showed that the school managed to raise RM3,290,559.44 through its various fund raising events.

The dinner will also include an art auction whereby the paintings will be put on display.
