KUCHING: Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said he prefers to wait and see if there is any “big fish” to be caught by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

“It is the MACC responsibility to investigate those who are not doing things right and therefore I would like to see those involved in corruption brought to court,” Abdul Karim said.

He was referring to the recent statement of MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya who said that there are cases involving high profile personalities in Sarawak.

Abdul Karim, however, said there should not be any selective prosecution.

“If you investigate only rival parties but you do not investigate your own party, that is wrong lah,” he reiterated.

“I am all for a clean and transparent government, therefore whatever actions taken by MACC should be done with transparency,” he added.
