KUCHING: All the 31 Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates received their ‘Letter of Appointment’ to contest using Barisan Nasional’s ‘Dacing symbol’ in the coming 14th General Election (GE14) in PBB Headquarters at Jalan Bako here, yesterday.
The letters signed by Barisan Nasional’s Chairman Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak were handed over to each candidate by Sarawak Barisan Nasional Chairman, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg who is also Sarawak Chief Minister.
Also present to witness the handing over of the letters to the candidates were Deputy Chief Ministers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
The 31 BN candidates are Dato Anthony Nogeh Gumbek (P.192 Mas Gading), Dato’ Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (P.193 Santubong), Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof (P.194 Petra Jaya), Kho Teck Wan (P.195 Bandar Kuching), Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian (P.196 Stampin), Rubiah Wang (P.197 Kota Samarahan), Genot@Jeannoth Sinel (P.198 Puncak Borneo), Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem (P.199 Serian), Dato Sri Nancy Shukri (P.200 Batang Sadong), Dato Sri Rohani Karim (P.201 Batang Lupar), Datuk Masir Kujat (P.202 Sri Aman), Robert Pasang Alam (P.203 Lubok Antu), Robert Lawson Chuat (P.204 Betong), Jagah @Subeng Mula (P.205 Saratok), Yusuf Abdul Wahab (P.206 Tanjung Manis), Ahmad Johnie Zawawi (P.207 Igan), Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii (P.208), Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum (P. 209 Julau), Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang (P.201 Kanowit), Kelvin Kong (P.211 Lanang), Dato Andrew Wong @Wong Kee Yew (P.212 Sibu), Dato Hanifah Taib Alsree (P.213 Mukah), Rita Sarimah Patrick Insol (P.214 Selangau), Alexander Nanta Linggi (P.215 Kapit), Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong (P.216 Hulu Rajang), Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing (P.217 Bintulu), Lukanisan Awang Sauni (P.218 Sibuti), Dato Sebastian Ting (P.219 Miri), Anyi Ngau (P.220 Baram), Datuk Hasbi Habibollah (P.221 Limbang) and Datuk Henry Sum Agong (P.222 Lawas).
The State Barisan Nasional’s list of candidates for the coming GE14 was revealed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Open on Tuesday.
Of the 31 candidates, 14 are from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), seven from SUPP, six from PRS and four from PDP.
The list comprises 16 incumbents and 15 new faces. There are six new faces from PBB, six from SUPP, two from PRS and one from PDP.
Twenty-five candidates are men while six are women.
Asked on BN chances of winning Putrajaya again Abang Johari said BN will win.
He added that Datuk Dr Sim had resigned as a senator to contest the Stampin seat in the coming election.
