MIRI: The Sarawak State Library will be hosting its third blood donation drive this year on August 20 here.
This time around it is organising the campaign with Sarawak Lakiput Association, Sarawak Native Teachers’ Association and Scouts Association of Malaysia, Sarawak Teachers’ Union and Miri Hospital’s Blood Bank.
It will be held in the foyer of Pustaka Miri from 9am to 12.30 pm.
“Organising blood donation campaign is a noble practice that can foster social responsibility by encouraging people to donate blood. It also aims to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood to help save lives as well as instil the spirit of volunteerism,” said the library’s Corporate Management Officer Shirley Szebah Mambai.
The second drive on May 14 saw 41 donors registered and a total of 38 bags of blood collected.
The scheduled date for the last blood donation drive for the year is on November 12.
