SARIKEI: Residents here made a grim discovery as they stumbled upon a lifeless body in an alley at Jalan Wharf yesterday (Oct 1).
Sarikei police chief Supt Awang Arfian Awang Bujang said they received a distress call at 9.50 am on the discovery behind the Sarikei Community College.
“The victim, a man believed to be in his 30s, was found fully clothed and lying on his back.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that he might have fallen from the second floor of the building,” he said.
Paramedics confirmed that the victim died at the scene and his body was taken to Sarikei Hospital for a post-mortem.
Awang Arfian advised the public not to speculate on the incident.
The case has been classified as sudden death.
