SIBU: Those keen to compete in decorating Christmas trees will have their chance to do so from Dec 1 to 31 when the Christmas Tree Decoration contest returns to Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang here.
Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting said that the lighting up of the Christmas trees will be held on Dec 9.
“The result of the contest will be announced during the Countdown 2020 event on Dec 31,”he said.
According to contest organising chairperson cr Anna Lau, participation is open to secondary schools, higher education institutions and churches in the town.
Participants are to bear their own cost, she said.
“The public are invited to come and see the beautifully decorated Christmas trees,” she added.
On Countdown 2020, Ting said the programme will start at 10pm.
