SRI AMAN: Likun B emerged champions of the Sepak Takraw Championship of Sri Aman Sepak Takraw Association Cup or Pestasa 2017 which was held last weekend. The team defeated SRT A team 2-0 in the final held at Mini Stadium, Sri Aman District Council (MDSA). With the win Likun B took home a challenge trophy, an accompany trophy, medals and RM700 cash prize .
Runners-up SRT A received a trophy, medals and RM500 cash prize. The three-day tournament also saw the KABAN team and the WARRIOR team won the third place together and received a trophy, medals and cash prize of RM200 each respectively.
The opening ceremony of the championship was officiated by Saifudin Matsah, a political secretary to Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Datuk Sri Hajah Rohani Abdul Karim. A total of 32 teams participated in the championship which was also sponsored by the Kelab Sepak Takraw Simanggang or Keras.
The objective of the event was to promote sepak takraw among the people in Sri Aman and to lift the sport to a higher level.
