LIMBANG: Limbang Division Resident, Unus Tambi, visited villages grappling with water supply issues on Tuesday (Feb 13).
The affected areas include Kampung Ulak, Kampung Binjai, Telahak, Taman Lumpur Berbuak in Kampung Meritam, Kampung Sigantang, and Kampung Tedungan.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the status of the water supply problem and find solutions to the disruption that has persisted since Jan 31.
According to him, he contacted the Northern Area Water Board (LAKU) to facilitate the delivery of water supplies to the affected villages.
Residents have resorted to alternative measures, such as collecting rainwater and purchasing bottled drinking water for cooking.
However, the stored water supply falls short of meeting the daily needs and activities of the population.
The villagers express hope for a swift resolution to the water supply problem. Ongoing efforts are being made to maintain and identify the root cause of the issue.
During the visit, Unus was accompanied by his deputy, Aspalela Mohd Sahmoni, and Limbang District officer Sulaiman Engal.
