Lingga Regatta 2023 Raja Sungai prize increased to RM15,000

KUCHING: Lingga assemblywoman Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor has announced an increase in the cash prize for the Raja Sungai (River King) title in the Lingga Regatta 2023.

The prize has been raised from RM10,000 in the previous year’s edition to RM15,000.

The regatta is scheduled to take place from Dec 7 to 10.

“Last year, the Raja Sungai title was won by the Garuda Embun Berasap team from Kampung Tambak, Pusa.

“So, this year, we’re making it even better by increasing the cash prize for the winners of the Bidar 30 boat race.”

She made these remarks during a courtesy visit by the Lingga Regatta Working Committee yesterday.

According to the promotional materials released, there will be various water sports events during the regatta.

These events include marathon rowing without limits, Bidar 8, Bidar 10, Bidar 15, Bidar 20, Bidar 25, and the main event, Bidar 30.

In addition, there will also be sprinting events for Bidar 8, Bidar 10, Bidar 15, Bidar 20, Bidar 25, and Bidar 30. On Dec 7, Power Boat Racing will take place.

Registration forms will be available from Nov 1 to the closing date on Nov 29 at 9am.
