Lions Club members converge to attend events

SIBU: Various local Lions Clubs here have joined forces with Lions Club of Bintangor and Lions Club of Sarikei at the Sibu Airport today to warmly welcome the arrival of Lions District 308-A Governor Kapitan Ronny Hiew and his wife Chee Suk Fun.
The couple was accompanied by lst Vice District Governor Annie Ho, 2nd Vice District Govenor Datuk Winnie Lee and Past District Govenor Mary Law, among others.
The various local Lions Clubs included Lions Club of Sibu Mandarin, Lions Club of Sibu Pahlawan, Lions Club of Sibu Berjaya, Lions Club of Sibu Rejang, Lions Club of Sibu Bawang Assan and Lions Club of Sibu.
According to a spokesperson Datuk Betty Wong Yieng of Lions Club of Sibu Pahlawan, the couple and the other visitors have specially come to attend the separate installation ceremony of new board of directors for Lions Club of Bintangor and Lions Club of Sarikei to be held in their respective districts of Bintangor and Sarikei, on Saturday night and tonight (Sept 24).
Hiew, who is from Keningau Mandarin Lions Club, Sabah, will be the guest of honour at the two prestigious events.
