KUCHING: The upcoming Lions Nursing Home Annual Charity Food Fair aims to raise at least RM40,000 for the nursing home.
Lions Nursing Home Kuching chairperson Datin Ellis Suriayti Omar said at the moment they had RM160,000 in funds.
“So that is among the reasons why we are organising this food fair, because we are hoping to raise the amount to RM200,000, so we urge everyone to come and support us.
“Once we are able to reach RM200,000, the money will be used to further improve our facilities here as the building needs some major maintenance and repair.
“We will also able to pay our staff, we currently have 48 salaried staff,” she said during a press conference on the food fair programme on Tuesday (Nov 28).
The food fair will be held on Dec 3 from 8am to 12pm.
“We look forward to the continuous support of the public to participate and enjoy the food and beverage prepared by over 84 stalls at our Home here,” Ellis added.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian is expected to attend the food fair.
This year’s food fair will involve participation from other divisions such as Lions Club from Sibu, Miri and even Kota Kinabalu, Keningau, and Port Dickson.
