KUCHING: Christians all over the world yesterday celebrated Easter Sunday, the holiest day in the church’s calendar, which commemorated the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead after his crucifixion and burial.
Before that, during the 40 days of Lent, they fasted.
Christians also observed Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Virgil before welcoming Easter Sunday.

Easter this year remains lively. There are still many people who come to church even though they must follow the COVID-19 standard operation procedures (SOPs). For this year, I have prepared mentally, spiritually and physically to renew my covenant with God and to serve in the church.

I will spend Easter Sunday by having dinner with my family and spending more time with them. We will observe the celebration by just praying at home and celebrating it on a smaller scale.

This Easter, I will attend mass online. This year, too, we will get to witness the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), the first Holy Communion and Sacrament of Confirmation physically compared to the previous two years.

Every Sunday routine includes having lunch together with my family after mass. This Easter is very memorable for me because I was admitted into the Catholic Church and received my first Holy Communion and Sacrament of Confirmation.
