The festival procession, which signifies thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest, was not only joined by locals but also by those from the Peninsula as well as foreigners from Australia, England, Spain, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.
The existence of these diverse communities is believed to be the result of the intermarriage of local residents with outsiders.
