KUCHING: The 5th Edition of “Jom Masak and Menang Bersama Maggi” competition will take place from May 1 to June 30 in conjunction with the Gawai Dayak celebration.
Padawan Municipal Council chairman and Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang launched the competition at Emart, Batu Kawa today.
In his speech, Lo said, “Maggi has been part of our culture. I commend the competition as it gives people from other cultures the opportunity to learn and understand about the significance of the harvest festival to the Dayak community.”
He also said that Maggi was a brand quite known to Malaysians.
On Gawai Dayak, Lo added it played a great role in building social cohesion and reinforcing links between generations as families gathered to celebrate their cultural heritage over a lovely meal.”
The launch yesterday also featured celebrity chef Abdul Muluk Rambli (Chef Muluk) who demonstrated how to cook a simple “Ikan Pansuh” with Maggi products.
The top prize in the Maggi competition is a limited edition X-series Isuzu D-Max worth RM136,000.
Up for grabs are cash prizes worth RM8,000, kitchen appliances worth RM13,500 as weekly prices throughout the contest period and petrol cards worth RM100 for every 1,000th qualified entry.
